    Jonas Gahr Støre
Jonas Gahr Støre is the current Norwegian Foreign Minister. He has previously served as a special advisor, director general, state secretary and chief of staff in the Norwegian Prime Minister's office.

He is a former executive director at the World Health Organization, and was also the Executive Chairman of the Norwegian think-tank ECON Analyse. Before becoming Foreign Minister he served as Secretary General of the Norwegian Red Cross from 2003 to 2005.

During his TEDxRC² talk, Støre will explore the need for dialogue with State and non-State actors, and explore the question: "Should we talk to those who attack our societies, challenge our most deeply held values, and violate rights we consider fundamental?"

He will come at this question from different points of view – from the landscape of violence and the chaos of terrorism, which both he and his fellow Norwegians are all too familiar with, to the world of diplomatic communication, where some might argue that dialogue is becoming increasingly less useful and irrelevant to international politics. Støre will challenge these perceptions and prove 'why we must talk'.
